The verve-metadata JSON in each VAST <Ad> now has a published schema. The payload did not change.

Validate the payload

The verve-metadata reference lists every field, its type and its known enum values. Download the JSON Schema to validate a payload in your own tests.

  • Only request_id is required.
  • The schema accepts keys it does not list, because new keys can appear.
  • It accepts any string for an enum field, because new values can appear.
  • expires_at uses the date-time format. Make sure your validator supports formats. In ajv, add ajv-formats.

Frequency-cap windows

Section titled “Frequency-cap windows”

Every window is in UTC. Two windows were not defined before:

  • FREQUENCY_CAP_WINDOW_HOUR is the current clock hour. It is not the last 60 minutes.
  • FREQUENCY_CAP_WINDOW_WEEK is the current ISO week, which starts on Monday. It is not the last 7 days.

If the player counts a rolling hour or a rolling week, change it to count inside the clock hour and the ISO week. FREQUENCY_CAP_WINDOW_DAY is the current calendar day. FREQUENCY_CAP_WINDOW_MINUTE and FREQUENCY_CAP_WINDOW_THIRTY_MINUTES look back 60 seconds and 30 minutes. FREQUENCY_CAP_WINDOW_FLIGHT is the whole lifespan of the flight.
